Margaret Sullavan

Biography

Margaret Sullavan was a talented American actress who began her career on stage in 1929 and went on to make only 16 films, including the Academy Award-nominated performance in "Three Comrades" (1938). She preferred working on stage and only appeared on screen a handful of times, including opposite James Stewart in "The Shop Around the Corner." After retiring from film in the early 1940s, she made her final appearance in "No Sad Songs for Me" (1950), a poignant portrayal of a woman dying of cancer.
