The Shop Around the Corner

Two employees at a gift shop can barely stand each other, not realizing that they are falling in love as anonymous correspondents through their letters. Klara Novak (Margaret Sullavan), a saleswoman, impresses Hugo Matuschek (Frank Morgan) and gains employment at his shop in pre-war Budapest, much to the annoyance of Alfred Kralik (James Stewart), the top salesman. As the holiday season approaches, Kralik's pen pal, Klara, arrives in person, and they must navigate their growing feelings amidst the shop's chaos.
