Hideyo Amamoto

Biography

Hideyo Amamoto was a prolific Japanese actor known for his iconic roles in tokusatsu films and the Godzilla series. Notable among his many appearances were Dr. Shinigami in the original Kamen Rider series and various characters in other notable films, including "Katte ni shiyagare!! Ôgon keikaku" and "All Monsters Attack". He also used the pseudonym Eisei Amamoto for most of his career, which was a misreading of the kanji in his real name. Amamoto passed away on March 23, 2003, at the age of 77.
