Biography

Lilo Pempeit was a German film and stage actress and literary translator born Liselotte Irmgard Pempeit on October 6, 1922. She gained recognition for her early translations of Truman Capote's prose and her recurring roles in her son Rainer Werner Fassbinder's films, including "Fear of Fear" (1975) and "Rio das Mortes" (1971). A translator and actress, Pempeit also held a bookkeeping post at the Munich Society for Radiation Research during the late 1960s. She passed away on May 7, 1993.
