Andre Brandon deWilde was a prodigious child actor born into a theatrical family in Brooklyn, debuting on Broadway at seven and becoming a national phenomenon with his 492 performances for The Member of the Wedding. He won a Golden Globe Award for his film adaptation, was nominated for an Academy Award, and starred in his own sitcom before transitioning to adult roles, including a notable costarring role with Paul Newman in Hud (1963).
