Biography

Wylie Watson was a Scottish actor known for his distinctive roles in classic cinema. He showcased his versatility in Alfred Hitchcock's The 39 Steps, playing the remarkable Mr Memory, and later stole scenes as Joseph Macroon in the Ealing comedy Whisky Galore! After emigrating to Australia in 1952, he appeared in one final film, The Sundowners, released just before his passing in 1966.
