Gerry Lopez, known as "Mr. Pipeline," is an American surfer and film actor born on November 7, 1948, in Honolulu, Hawaii. As a teenage surfer, he became the Hawaii State Champ at 14 and mastered the art of tube riding skills. Lopez's sleek style was influenced by Paul Strauch, and he rose to fame as a top tuberider on Oahu's North Shore, particularly at Banzai Pipeline.
