Masami Shimojō
Biography
Masami Shimojō was a Japanese film and stage actor who made his mark on television through his iconic role as Tatsuzo in the long-running Otoko wa Tsurai yo series. He debuted on stage in 1936, joining Gekidan Mingei after traveling to Tokyo in search of a film directing career. Shimojō appeared in over 100 films and remained active on stage until well after World War II. His portrayal of Torajiro Kuruma's uncle earned him lasting recognition.
