In this 34th installment of the beloved Otoko wa Tsurai yo series, Torajirō Kuruma, aka Tora-san, finds himself in a most unexpected predicament when he falls for the wife of a hard-working company section chief who suddenly vanishes under pressure. As Tora-san helps the wife search for her missing husband, he secretly hopes they won't be reunited, his heart torn between loyalty and love. This 1984 comedy film directed by Yoji Yamada is a witty satire that pokes fun at Japan's rising economy while delivering an emotionally honest tale of unrequited love.
