Gus McNaughton was a renowned English film actor born in London on July 29, 1881. He began his career as a juvenile comedian with the Fred Karno company and later appeared in over 70 films between 1930 and 1947. Notable roles include fast-talking sidekicks in several popular George Formby comedies of the 1930s and 1940s, as well as appearances in Alfred Hitchcock's Murder! (1930) and The 39 Steps (1935).
