Payman Maadi

Biography

Peyman Maadi was born in New York City to Iranian parents and moved back to Iran at age five. He graduated with a degree in metallurgical engineering before transitioning into film as a screenwriter. Maadi's breakthrough role came in Asghar Farhadi's About Elly (2009), followed by the critically acclaimed A Separation (2011), for which he won the Silver Bear award. He has since appeared in notable films like Last Knights and 6 Underground.
