George Robert Wendt Jr. was a renowned American actor, best known for his iconic role as Norm Peterson on the NBC sitcom Cheers from 1982 to 1993. This portrayal earned him six consecutive Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. After Cheers ended, he starred in his own short-lived CBS sitcom, The George Wendt Show. He also appeared in several films and TV shows throughout his career.
