Minoru Chiaki was a renowned Japanese actor known for his distinctive roles in Akira Kurosawa's films, including Heihachi in Seven Samurai and Yoshiaki Miki in Throne of Blood. A highly respected artist, he won the Best Actor prize at the Japan Academy Prize ceremony in 1986 for his performance in Toei's Gray Sunset.
