Christian Berkel is a German actor born on October 28, 1957, in Berlin to a military doctor father. From age 14, he trained in drama in Paris and later honed his craft at the German Film and Television Academy before appearing in numerous German television productions and international films, including Downfall, Valkyrie, and Inglourious Basterds. He resides in Berlin with actress Andrea Sawatzki and their two sons.
