Avis Bunnage

Biography

Avis Bunnage was a British actress who gained stage experience in rep and made her first professional appearance at Chorlton Rep Theatre in Manchester in 1947. She was a member of Joan Littlewood's Theatre Workshop company, creating the role of Helen in A Taste of Honey, which marked her West End debut. Bunnage appeared in notable productions such as Oh, What a Lovely War! and Sweeny Todd, before transitioning to television with roles in Coronation Street and Fiddler on the Roof.
