What a Crazy World

"Unemployed East End lad Alf Hitchens (Joe Brown) dreams of hitting the big time in the music business, while navigating his on-off relationship with girlfriend Marilyn (Susan Maughan) and dealing with his family, including his lovable but gruff father Sam (Harry H. Corbett). The film features a range of late 1950s and early 1960s musical performers, including Marty Wilde, Freddie and the Dreamers, and Joe Brown's band, the Bruvvers. With its cheerful pop musical numbers and working-class background, "What a Crazy World" is a lighthearted, if somewhat dated, romantic comedy."
