Billie Whitelaw was a renowned English stage and screen actress who collaborated closely with Irish playwright Samuel Beckett for 25 years, interpreting his works as one of the foremost interpreters of his oeuvre. She won two Television BAFTAs and an Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her performances in Charlie Bubbles and Twisted Nerve. Whitelaw's notable film roles included Mrs. Baylock in The Omen and Violet Kray in The Krays.
