The Water Babies

Tom, a 12-year-old orphan living in York in the mid-19th century, is taken under the wing of Grimes, a roguish chimney sweep. After framing Tom for a crime, Tom jumps into a river and is transformed into a mystical aquatic creature, discovering a colorful underwater world inhabited by creatures such as Jock the Scottish lobster, Terence the English seahorse, and Claude the French swordfish. With the help of other sea creatures like Cyril the Walrus, Tom rescues the Water Babies from enslavement by sharks, ultimately proving his innocence and finding a new home with Elly's family.
