Biography

Brian Blessed was born on October 9, 1936, in Mexborough, West Riding of Yorkshire, to a coal mining family. He attended the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and served in the RAF before embarking on a distinguished acting career, including notable roles in Z-Cars, I, Claudius, and Flash Gordon, as well as being appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2016 for services to the arts and charity.
