Faith Domergue was a Hollywood actress born in New Orleans, Louisiana, who rose to fame in science fiction films of the 1940s and 1950s. Her breakthrough role came in 1945 with *The Strange Love of Martha Ivers*, followed by iconic roles in *This Island Earth* and *It Came from Beneath the Sea*. Domergue's exotic looks and striking performances made her a staple of B-movies, earning her a reputation as an early "scream queen". She retired from acting in the 1960s.
