Biography

Eric Leslie Barker was a renowned English comedy actor best remembered for his roles in the popular British Carry On films. Born on February 20, 1912, in Thornton Heath, London, he began his writing career with a novel published at age 18 and later gained popularity during World War II as part of the armed forces radio show Merry Go Round. His contributions to comedy continued with notable appearances in "The Great St. Trinian's Train Robbery" (1966) and "Carry on Spying" (1964).
