In 1920s Sydney's underworld, Iris (Rose Byrne) navigates a complex love triangle with her roguish English lover McHeath (Hugo Weaving), a charming con man, and Art Walker (Matt Le Nevez), an honest young boxer. As each character struggles to establish their sovereignty within the flawed moral landscape, the story unfolds in a stylized version of Sydney's criminal/boxing underworld.
