School Daze

School Daze is a musical comedy-drama film that tells the story of undergraduates at a historically black college in Atlanta who clash during homecoming weekend between their fraternity and sorority lives. The movie follows Vaughn "Dap" Dunlap, a politically militant senior, as he leads an anti-apartheid demonstration interrupted by his former friend Julian, who is now the head of the Gamma Phi Gamma Fraternity chapter. Meanwhile, Dap's younger cousin Darrell becomes embroiled in the fraternity's hazing rituals and suffers consequences when he sleeps with Jane, Julian's girlfriend. The film explores issues of colorism, elitism, classism, political activism, hazing, groupthink, female self-esteem, social mobility, and hair texture bias within the African-American community.
