Fresh Meat

In "Fresh Meat," a dysfunctional gang of criminals takes a middle-class Māori family hostage, led by Hemi Crane (Temuera Morrison), an associate professor dissatisfied with his career due to perceived discrimination against Māori natives. As the captors' true nature is revealed, the family's dark secret is exposed, and they brutally kill their captors in a gruesome turn of events. The teenage daughter, Rina (Hanna Tevita), tries to escape her family's sinister tradition inspired by historical events her father studies, while Gigi (Kate Elliott) fights for survival alongside Rina against their cannibalistic parents.
