Heartbreak Ridge

In 1983, Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant Thomas "Tom" Highway finagles a transfer back to his old unit, only to discover that one of his new recruits, Stitch Jones, has swindled him out of his money and ticket at a rest stop. As he takes command of the Reconnaissance Platoon, Highway enacts a rigorous training program that pays off as his men develop esprit de corps and respect for him, despite initial resentment from their commanding officer, Major Malcolm Powers. Deployed to Grenada in 1983 to prevent a communist takeover and rescue med students, Highway's platoon must navigate the challenges of combat while also dealing with personal struggles, including an ex-wife who is hesitant to reconcile and a team that must overcome their own bad attitudes.
