Hide and Seek

David Callaway (Robert De Niro), a psychologist, moves to upstate New York with his 9-year-old daughter Emily after her mother's apparent suicide. Emily has created an imaginary friend named Charlie, but when David discovers their cat dead in the bathtub, he begins to suspect that Charlie is more than just a figment of her imagination. As David struggles to connect with his daughter and cope with his own grief, he realizes that Charlie may be his own dark alter ego, one that has been manifesting as violent outbursts and sinister actions, leading him to commit murder and putting those around him in danger.
