The Sure Thing

High school senior Walter "Gib" Gibson (John Cusack) and his best friend Lance celebrate moving on to college, but Gib is still struggling with his charm with women. Lance invites Gib to come to California for Christmas break, promising a "sure thing" with no strings attached, but things take a complicated turn when Gib meets Alison Bradbury (Daphne Zuniga), his uptight Ivy-Leaguer English classmate. As they embark on a cross-country road trip together, they clash at first, but eventually, their divergent natures complement each other, and they must figure out what they've found before it's too late.
