Logan's Run

In the 23rd century, inhabitants of a domed city freely experience all of life's pleasures — but no one is allowed to live past 30. Citizens can try for a chance at being "renewed" in a civic ceremony on their 30th birthday. Escape is the only other option. The story follows Logan 5, a "Sandman" who has terminated others who have attempted to escape death and is now faced with termination as well. Logan 5 (Michael York) and Jessica 6 (Jenny Agutter) team up to escape the city, pursued by Francis 7 (Richard Jordan), a fellow Sandman. They discover that the city's population control measures involve a public ritual called "Carrousel" that destroys bodies, and that the city's computer is hiding a sinister truth.
