Godzilla 1985

In the heavily re-edited American localization of the Japanese film "The Return of Godzilla," a giant monster terrorizes Japan, prompting a nuclear-free policy decision by the Japanese Prime Minister. Reporter Goro Maki finds the sole survivor of a fishing vessel attacked by the monster, Hiroshi "Kenny" Okumura, and his sister Naoko, who works as a lab assistant to bio-physicist Makoto Hayashida. As the situation escalates, Japan deploys its military to counter Godzilla's attacks, and Hayashida uses ultrasonic images to understand the monster's behavior. The Americans assist in the battle against Godzilla, with journalist Raymond Burr reprising his role as Steve Martin.
