8½

The film 8½ follows the story of Guido Anselmi, a famous Italian film director played by Marcello Mastroianni, who is struggling with writer's block and creative stagnation. He attempts to recover at a luxurious spa, but his anxieties persist, and he begins to fantasize about past women and dreams of his childhood. A series of surrealistic dreams and flashbacks to his childhood unfold, featuring an Ideal Woman, Claudia, who is played by Claudia Cardinale. Guido's struggles with his own personal relationships and creative blockage ultimately lead him to find inspiration and revive his passion for filmmaking.
