Police chief Martin Brody (Roy Scheider), shark hunter Quint (Robert Shaw) and marine biologist Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) hunt a great white shark that attacks beachgoers in the New England resort town of Amity Island. After a young woman's body is found washed up on the beach, and another child is killed by the shark, Brody and Hooper team up with Quint to catch the killer shark.
