Orphée

Orphée, a famous poet in postwar Paris, is in love with both his wife Eurydice (Marie Déa) and a mysterious princess. Seeking inspiration, the poet becomes obsessed and follows the princess from the world of the living to the land of the dead, where he encounters Death (María Casares), who is revealed to be the princess incarnate. With the help of his friend Heurtebise (François Périer), Orpheus navigates the Underworld, where he must confront the consequences of his actions and prove his love to Death in order to reclaim his wife.
