El Topo

El Topo, a violent, black-clad gunfighter, travels through a desert on horseback with his naked young son, Hijo. After a village massacre, El Topo hunts down and kills a fat balding Colonel, then names the woman he takes as a slave, Marah, after turning her bitter water sweet. Marah persuades El Topo to continue his journey to confront the desert's four great gun masters, but he becomes increasingly doubtful and guilty after the final duel. The film follows El Topo's journey as he undergoes a transformative desert journey, accompanied by his son, who must bury his childhood to become a man, and a group of deformed outcasts who come to regard El Topo as a god-like figure.
