Mannen på taket

In this 1976 Swedish police procedural-thriller, Detective Inspector Martin Beck (Carl-Gustaf Lindstedt) leads the investigation into the brutal murder of Stig Nyman, a veteran police officer who was brutally killed in a hospital. The investigation uncovers reports of misconduct and possibly revenge, ultimately leading to the suspect, Åke "The Man on the Roof" Eriksson (Ingvar Hirdwall), who becomes a social misfit and starts a sniper rampage against the police. With the help of colleague Lennart Kollberg (Sven Wollter) and other officers, Beck and his team close in on Eriksson, who is eventually arrested after a tense standoff.
