The Castle

In the quirky Kerrigan family's makeshift home, a building inspector condemns their creation and reveals the government's plans to use their land for an airport expansion. Darryl Kerrigan (Michael Caton) and his brood, including his wife Sal (Anne Tenney) and sons Dale (Stephen Curry) and Steve (Anthony Simcoe), recruit hack attorney Dennis Denuto (Tiriel Mora) to fight the eviction. As the case makes its way through the court system, the family faces off against agents from the airport, who use bribery and intimidation to try and sway the outcome. In the end, the court rules in favor of the Kerrigans, making a landmark precedent on the subject, thanks in part to the persuasive arguments of retired Queen's Counsel Lawrence Hammill (Charles "Bud" Tingwell).
