Yuichi Shimizu (Satoshi Tsumabuki), a shy and lonely day laborer, finds himself entangled in a murder investigation after being involved in the death of a woman he had a brief encounter with, Yoshino Ishibashi (Hikari Mitsushima), a young insurance saleswoman who was cruelly rejected by a wealthy playboy, Keigo Masuo (Masaki Okada). As Yuichi's world is shattered, he meets Mitsuyo Magome (Eri Fukatsu), a woman who becomes his unlikely love interest and helps him go on the run to avoid being caught for the crime.
