Song of Norway

The film "Song of Norway" (1970) tells the story of composer Edvard Grieg's early struggles to develop an authentic Norwegian national music, starring Toralv Maurstad as Grieg and featuring an international cast. The film follows Grieg's attempts to get his music noticed, with the help of friends and family, including composer Rikard Nordraak and his wife Nina, who subsidizes a series of concerts. The film ends with Grieg returning home to Nina in Norway to continue his career, after receiving a travel grant and holding numerous concerts in Rome.
