Romance on the High Seas

Doris Day stars as Georgia Garrett, a woman sent by her jealous wife Elvira (Janis Paige) to masquerade on an ocean cruise to Rio de Janeiro, while Elvira secretly hopes to catch her husband Michael (Don DeFore) cheating. Meanwhile, Michael hires private detective Peter Virgil (Jack Carson), who falls for Georgia, leading to love, confusion, and mistaken identities. As the cruise stops in various cities, including Havana and Rio, Georgia's friend Oscar Farrar (Oscar Levant) becomes a complication, and the film's third act resolves the crossed love plots.
