Laughter in Paradise

Laughter in Paradise follows Deniston Russell (Alastair Sim), a retired army officer who writes crime novels, as he tries to get arrested and jailed for 28 days, and his three relatives, who must complete tasks that go against their nature. Agnes Russell (Fay Compton) becomes a domestic servant, while Simon Russell (Guy Middleton) marries a woman he barely knows. Herbert Russell (George Cole) holds up the bank manager, and ultimately becomes a hero. In the end, they discover that the task was all a practical joke, and they burst into laughter.
