The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman

In 1962, a 110-year-old former slave, Jane Pittman (Cicely Tyson), shares her remarkable life story with a young journalist, Quentin Lerner (Michael Murphy). Through a series of chapters, Jane recounts her experiences from slavery to the present day, including the struggles of African Americans in Bayonne, Louisiana, where she now lives. Her story is interwoven with the struggles of a young boy named Jimmy, played by Eric Brown, and the realities of racism.
