The Lady Eve

Barbara Stanwyck stars as Jean Harrington, a beautiful con artist, in this 1941 screwball comedy film. Henry Fonda plays Charles Pike, her target on a voyage from South America to New York. Jean's father, "Colonel" Harrington, and his partner Gerald are also part of the con, and Charles becomes smitten with Jean despite Muggsy's suspicions. Jean falls in love with Charles, but after he rejects her, she devises a plan to get revenge by masquerading as an aristocrat named Lady Eve Sidwich.
