Memoirs of a Geisha

In 1929, a penniless Japanese child is torn from her family to work as a maid in a geisha house. Chiyo Sakamoto, sold by her impoverished father, begins her journey navigating love, loss, and identity within the mysterious world of geishas. As she trains to become a geisha under the pseudonym "Sayuri Nitta," Chiyo faces hardships and challenges posed by a war-torn society. Despite the sacrifices and hardship, Sayuri rises in popularity, attracting the attention of many men, including Chairman Ken Iwamura, with whom she ultimately finds love.
