Pocahontas

Pocahontas is a 1995 American animated musical historical drama film loosely based on the life of Powhatan woman Pocahontas and the arrival of English settlers from the Virginia Company. The film stars Irene Bedard as the voice of Pocahontas, Mel Gibson as John Smith, and David Ogden Stiers as Governor Ratcliffe, among others. In 1607, English settlers, including Captain John Smith, arrive in Virginia and encounter a Native American tribe led by Chief Powhatan's daughter, Pocahontas, who fears being married to a warrior and falls in love with the Englishman instead. The film follows their forbidden romance, cultural clashes, and the eventual conflict between the two groups that threatens to destroy their budding relationship and the peace between their worlds.
