The Firemen's Ball is a satirical comedy directed by Miloš Forman, set at the annual ball of a small town's volunteer fire department. The event is marred by a series of disasters, including a stolen raffle prize, a beauty pageant that descends into chaos, and a fire that engulfs the town hall. Jan Vostrčil plays the Head of Committee, Josef Valnoha is one of the Committee Members, and Ladislav Adam is also a Committee Member, among others. The film is a critique of the communist system and bureaucracy, and its dark comedy has made it a beloved milestone of the Czechoslovak New Wave.
