The Strange Love of Martha Ivers

Barbara Stanwyck stars as Martha Ivers, a wealthy woman trapped in a loveless marriage with Kirk Douglas's character, Walter O'Neil, who has built his career on the back of his powerful wife. When their childhood friend Sam Masterson (Van Heflin) returns to their lives, they are reminded of the incident from their childhood that led to Martha's wealth and her choice of husband. As Sam tries to reconnect with Martha, he must confront the dark secrets and lies that have haunted them for years, including the accidental death of Martha's aunt and the cover-up that followed.
