A Girl from Mogadishu

The film "A Girl from Mogadishu" tells the story of Ifrah Ahmed, a Somali-Irish campaigner against female genital mutilation and cutting, played by Aja Naomi King. Born into a refugee camp in war-torn Somalia, Ifrah is trafficked to Ireland as a teenager, where she recounts her traumatic childhood experiences of female genital mutilation. She vows to dedicate her life to eradicating the practice, taking her campaign to the President of Ireland, the European Parliament, and the United Nations.
