Captains Courageous

Harvey Cheyne, the arrogant and spoiled son of an indulgent absentee-father, falls overboard from a transatlantic steamship and is rescued by a fisherman, Manuel Fidello. Manuel, a proud but simple Portuguese immigrant, offers Harvey a low-paid job on his fishing schooner, We're Here, which transforms the boy into a mature, considerate young man. Through his experiences, Harvey forms a close bond with Manuel, who ultimately sacrifices his life to save Harvey, leaving him with a newfound sense of responsibility and maturity.
