In this satirical exploitation film, a beautiful Midwestern ingenue moves to Hollywood to become an actress, hooking up with a dubious team of moviemakers at Miracle Pictures. As she becomes embroiled in a series of gruesome and fatal on-set accidents, the film's blend of comedy, action, thriller, and slasher elements takes aim at the exploitative nature of B-movie filmmaking. With extensive use of footage from other New World films, "Hollywood Boulevard" is a clever send-up of the genre, featuring references and inside-jokes to the studio's previous features.
