As German forces take over Czechoslovakia in March 1939, inventor Axel Bomasch manages to flee and reach England; but those who need to put his knowledge at the service of the Nazi war machine, in order to carry out their evil plans of destruction, will stop at nothing to capture him. Margaret Lockwood stars as Anna Bomasch, Axel's daughter who is arrested before she can reach the airport and sent to a concentration camp. With the help of Karl Marsen, a Gestapo agent pretending to be a teacher, Anna manages to escape and makes her way to London, where she contacts Dickie Randall, a British intelligence officer working undercover as an entertainer named Gus Bennett, played by Rex Harrison.
