Biography

Sir Reginald Carey "Rex" Harrison was a renowned English actor who began his career on stage at the Liverpool Playhouse in 1924. He made his breakthrough role in Terence Rattigan's French Without Tears in 1936 and won his first Tony Award for Best Actor in 1949 for his portrayal of Henry VIII in Anne of the Thousand Days. Harrison also won a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance as Professor Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady.
